Szymon Doliwa

Trainee advocate

  • Junior Associate in the Media Law and IP Department.
  • He focuses on the practical aspects of media law and the protection of personal rights, including image rights. He also takes a keen interest in constitutional law and the regulatory framework governing public media.
  • He provides substantive support to attorneys and legal counsel. Acting on behalf of the firm’s clients, he participates in court hearings and prepares retraction statements, public declarations, and pleadings in matters involving the protection of personal rights and press law. He is actively involved in developing legal strategies for managing reputational crises.
  • He has gained professional experience not only in Warsaw-based law firms but, above all, within the media industry itself. For many years, he collaborated with one of the largest television broadcasters in Central Europe, where he was involved in managing television production processes, overseeing strategic projects, and providing legal services and substantive support to the company’s management board and channel directors. This experience has given him an insider’s perspective on how the media industry operates, allowing him to understand its structures and workflows — an insight that translates effectively into his day-to-day legal practice and his ability to address clients’ needs.
  • Since the beginning of his legal studies, he has been actively engaged in social initiatives, co-organising and delivering academic lectures, supporting the organisation of summer schools, and volunteering for projects dedicated to Polish children living in Ukraine.
  • He has published several dozen opinion pieces on social, cultural, and philosophical topics in one of Poland’s nationwide quarterly journals. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, where he received a top grade for his master’s thesis on the legal status of public media in Poland.
  • He is currently undertaking his legal training with the Warsaw Bar Association and is an active member of its Intellectual Property and New Technologies Section.
  • His interests include history, philosophy, and cultural studies. In his free time, he enjoys returning to his family home in the Masurian Lake District.
